This weblog by John Currahee is devoted to Southeastern United States Cherokee Indian place names. He gives the history and some of the legends behind the names and includes pronunciations. The weblog includes a discussion of the Trail of Tears, and a new and improved arrangement of the Cherokee Syllabary is presented. This site, developed by the Institute of Southern Jewish Life with funding from Humanities Texas and the Texas Jewish Historical Society, contains detailed, illustrated histories of 55 different Jewish communities from across the state. Each history discusses the origins, development, and current state of the local Jewish community.
