Winter Celebrations Around the World


The UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures presents the Winter Celebrations around the World event. The event will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 12:00PM to 4:00PM. The Winter Celebrations Around the World event highlights the winter holiday experience in cultures around the globe. 

AYUSA Global Exchange students will showcase displays on winter celebrations in their home countries. At 2:00PM, the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church will present a traditional Pastorela play, a morality tale about shepherds journeying to Bethlehem despite the Devil’s attempts to dissuade them. The San Antonio Children’s Ballet will present two performances of The Nutcracker at 1:00PM and 3:00PM. 

The event will be held at the Institute of Texan Cultures:

Admission is FREE. The San Antonio Food Bank will be accepting non-perishable food items to assist with winter needs. The first 100 guests will receive cookbooks from the San Antonio Foodbank. The Institute of Texan Cultures is accepting donations of new, unused blankets for Communities in Schools SA.
