When Cotton Was King; The Economics of the Cotton Industry

Description: 

Students will examine the cycle of farm tenancy that developed in Texas after the Civil War and look at significant factors of supply and demand that played a role in the growth of the system. They will look at changes brought about by New Deal government regulations and the development and implementation of new technologies. Students will complete a cause-effect graphic that highlights the economic relationships of supply, demand, and profit.
