TSHA hosts the Exploring Texas Workshop Series every year. Teachers in attendance can receive professional development credit for attending sessions with accessible historical content and pedagogical advice from renowned scholars, respected classroom practitioners, and organizations with expertise in the fields of history, geography, economics, civics, and skill building.
The next event in the series is the Encountering Texas History Conference on February 5-6, 2018. The event will be held at the M. B. Sonny Donaldson Child Nutrition Center, Aldine ISD, Houston (1802 Aldine Bender, Houston, TX 77032). The event is intended for 4th and 7th grade Texas history educators and will focus on the history of Texas from 1900 to the present. Teachers will be able to choose from a variety of breakout sessions addressing historical content, geography, economics, civics, teaching strategies, and resources. Registration is $35.00.
