2016 Summer Camp at the Alamo Scholarship Contest

Student ProgramIn honor of the 180th anniversary of the Battle of the Alamo, Mayor Ivy R. Taylor is sponsoring an Alamo Summer Camp Tuition Scholarship Essay Contest. Six students will receive full camp tuition to one session of 2016 Alamo Summer Camp. Summer Camp tuition is valued at $250. Essay Prompt: In 1836, Texans made a stand for something they believed in at the Alamo. Why is their decision to sacrifice their lives important 180 years later? Essay Contest Entry Guidelines: Essay must be no more than 500 words Entries must include name, school and email address. Contest is open to all San Antonio students between the ages of 9 and 13, or 4th - 7th grade. All entries must be received by 5pm on June 3, 2016. Mail to: Sherri Driscoll, P.O.
