Teacher Workshops on Twentieth-Century Texas and Teaching Drama

Staff DevelopmentHumanities Texas will hold professional development workshops in Dallas and Austin for Texas social studies and language arts teachers. On April 14, 2016, Humanities Texas will hold a workshop in Dallas for Texas history teachers covering the state's history in the twentieth century. Faculty lectures will address topics in twentieth-century Texas history, boom and bust in Texas industry, the civil rights movement, and the emergence of a two-party Texas. Workshop faculty includes Alwyn Barr (Texas Tech University), Monica Perales and Joseph A. Pratt of the University of Houston, Michael L. Gillette (Humanities Texas), and Chase Untermeyer (former U.S. ambassador to Qatar).
