Cotton Industry in Texas

Lesson PlanStudents will examine where cotton is grown in Texas and will look at the role of geographic factors (soil, climate) and human resources (workers) in its production. Students will compare the levels of human labor, past and present, in cotton production and understand the importance of this crop to the Texas economy. They will be provided opportunities to analyze charts and maps, and draw inferences and conclusions, with print and visual information on the cotton industry in Texas.
